Serving his boatbuilding apprenticeship with Buccaneer boats, and working on a 60ft Ron Given designed catamaran, Steve has then gone on to fit out a 40ft Roger Hill cat, helped with moulding design and build for a 9m Gamefisher and various moulding, production fibreglass and boat repairs.
Before then designing and producing what we see today in the Admiral Boats 10m luxury sports cruiser. Keeping in touch with previous employers and clients has led to the aforementioned 9m Gamefisher coming on board to add to Admiral boats range of high-quality vessels.
We now have a growing team of talented tradesmen teaming up to build truly exceptional boats, from years spent fishing, diving, and surfing to quality time with friends and family, it is little wonder that the Admiral Boats are building Ultimate Kiwi Dreams!
When I was younger growing up, my dad always had a home workshop, he built our family home, furniture, 4 bay garage, waterskis, skateboard ramps, surfboards, and a 17'6 Pelin trailer boat.
An immaculate vessel built with pride in his own shed, dedicated to diving, fishing, hunting and camping missions and waterskiing. We were brought up where we can build it, or make it, or knew someone that can.
I can remember redrawing the boat plans and building scale models when I was 7 years old. For as long as I can remember I was going to build boats for a living.
Life, as it has happened, has given me the opportunity to have helped design and build some truly amazing boats, and built a platform for what we now build in our own flagship 10m sports cruiser, 9m game fisher and designing other models of boats we currently have in the pipeline.
A dream job and a privileged place to turn up every day and help bring other peoples dreams to life.
